I Must Go was a standard in the early days of Brookfield (North). It was a fun song about moving from traditional folk and exploring other styes. This recording is from the The Brooks Sister’s album, The Carport Sessions, I think our daughters did a much better job of it. So here’s their cover version of our tune.
Katherine and Caroline Brooks - Vocals
Caroline Brooks - Acoustic Guitar
Jeff Brackett - Acoustic Guitar
Stevie Brackett - Percussion
Wesley Cheang - Bass

Lyrics

I MUST GO
I found love in my heart tonight
A curtain call with friends
This song and dance we held so true
Will show us through to the end

Chorus
So don’t tell me you feel like going back
When the turn of the cards cry no
Cause it’s darker - closer than you see
And I must go

It’s all in order our time’s in hand
In folklore we cry no more
It’s a secret from no one
Just a kind old friend
Has passed the door

Chorus
