This week’s entry, Twinkle Twinkle, is from long ago when our kids were very young. We recorded this off the floor, guitar first then one take on the vocals at my good friend Mel Kay’s studio. I arranged it in drop C9 tuning, hence the depth of the guitar. Oh how I miss those simple days when we had very little, but we were rich.
This week’s poem is called Unspoken Vows - this prose is a reflection of an embryonic love. A long linear look back to what became a life together. Two as One.

TWINKLE - TWINKLE
Twinkle, twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are
Up above the world so bright
Shining like a diamond in the night
Twinkle, twinkle little star
How I wonder who you are
Up above our world so bright
Shining like a diamond in the night
Like a diamond in the night
Shining like a diamond in the night

UNSPOKEN VOWS
We were newly lovers then
Driving in the rain
Each of us carrying the weight of separation
Now, safe in each other’s arms, beneath the cover of night.
At dawn, we hiked the mountain pass
My hand at your back, leaving our deep forest of dreams.
Holding the sunlit meadows
Warding off the shadows, until we reached the summit
It was here we discovered a Lost Lake in the belly of the Earth
It was here we recited our unspoken vows
Before the vast valley of forgiveness that lay before us
