Week Fifty - Stolen Moments

Stolen Moments is about separation and absence. The longing one feels when the one you love is far away, an emptiness that’s hard to define.

This week's prose, August, is about taking the time to listen, watch, touch, hold, find and look, during an isolated summer’s month long ago.

STOLEN MOMENTS

I am broken
It is winter
When will I see you again

For love is frozen
Inside this season
It blinds the heart steals the faith

I cannot take this
Time is fading
Will stolen moments keep love safe

For there is wisdom
In love’s flower
As it opens wide on each new day

I am broken
It is winter
When will I see you again

AUGUST

Listen
to the waves
The rhythm of the rain

Watch
the sunlight
Dissolve into shadow

Touch
your lover’s heart
As you cross the river

Hold
the heavens
In the palm of your hand

Find
the August star
That crossed the summer’s night sky

Look
for the soul
That left for the fields of knowing
