This week's entry is Course of Change, written by Caroline Marie Brooks from the album titled Carport Sessions by The Brooks Sisters. I was honoured to play some colour acoustic guitar on this lovely track.
This week’s prose is called Passage. From my third poetry book, Horizon. It celebrates that physical distance cannot separate you from the ones you love. It speaks to how we are joined by the vast space between us, woven by the test of time. This is for my daughters Caroline and Katherine.

PASSAGE
Flying over the continent
Moving towards sunrise
Your passage reveals a seam in the Earth’s magnetic morning
Your vessel floats beneath the shimmering heavens
Like a tiny cell in a vast blue sea
It is hope, it is beautiful.
This summer bird
A speck floating across the great abyss
Tips its silver wings, levels, engines quiet
Softly landing in the rain and mist of a new world.
It is hope. it is beautiful.
We are joined by the vast space between us.
Invisible threads woven by the test of time.
Our unmistakable hearts deny the distance,
Understanding the passage.
It is hope, it is beautiful.
