Week Fourteen - Leave This Blue

This song was written to address the on-line epidemic of false news and misinformation we live with daily. How we can collectively change this false narrative, burn the plan and join the rising tide against the right wing and Leave This Blue behind.

This week’s poem is A Night on Lang Lake from  my collection Twenty Seven XXVII -  A remembrance of a moon lite night camped on a beautiful northern lake.

LEAVE THIS BLUE

Let’s light a fire - Burn the plan
I am calling you
Come take my hand - Lets find what’s true
And leave this blue

It’s been the weight of words beyond our reach
Lies that never end
No need to pretend - It’s now we begin
Let’s leave this blue

Chorus
I feel a rising tide - a dream alive
Under open skies away we’ll ride
Leave it all behind with nothing left to hide
It’s in the way they see - their shadows long
I feel your pain it won’t last long
Those hearts that lie - we’ll watch them fade away

Let’s light a fire - Burn the plan
I am calling you
Come take my hand - Lets find what’s true
And leave this blue

A NIGHT ON LANG LAKE

Hoop of stone
Red cinders
Hypnotic
Wind chimes arrive - circle the clearing
A distant mouth falls silent

Night winds rise
Grey ashes scatter
Two tamaracks bend like spiny fingers
that loom in the moonlight
Momentary shadows that cross

Lang Lake, Northern Ontario
